Through a straw

Well, our planned morning run was nixed due to rain and lightning.  Boo!  Thus, I had to decide if I would take the day off entirely or try to run in the evening.  After mulling it over, I opted for the latter.  I had no desire to destroy myself today with the track meet about 48 hours away, so this is what I decided to go w/:  4 mile warm-up, 4x400 (w/ 200m rec), and 6x200m (200m rec).

Let me tell you, it was fucking humid this evening.  Breathing was quite the chore the first couple miles around the trail. I got somewhat used to it after about 20 min, but it still sucked.  The track part was not bad.  Running 1500/3000m pace could have felt easier, but let's be real, does it ever really feel "good" to run those paces?  Not to me.

Here's to some magical weather anomaly knocking the humidity down below 80% on Friday!

It was a rough one out there today (heat, humidity, and dead ass legs) .  I shut it down at 72 min.  Had planned for more, but my body was begging for mercy.  So I relented.  Most likely for the best.

4 laps barefoot on the football field to cool down

My  legs were freaking done after this workout, but it was much, much easier than the ladder I did 4 to 5 weeks ago.  Progress.

Recruiting run

About 10.25 miles in 74 min.  Good run w/ a decent sized group.  Team manager had a 5 * recruit in house today.  The chatter was both lively and informative, and the prospect seemed somewhat intrigued.  Now it's up to TM to close the deal.  No pressure.

Slightly diff events for track meet #2

Order of events:

  • 3000m run
  • 300m hurdles
  • 200m run
  • 800m run
  • Long Jump – 7pm
  • 50m run
  • 400m run
  • 1500m run
  • 4×400 relay




Some slight changes for the track meet next Fri. It does not look like can do the 400/1600 double any longer. Am thinking either 3000/1500 or 800/1500. Will have to think on it a bit.
